Yin Yoga Workshop With Lesley Saturday, November 23, 2-4pm Take some time out on a cold Saturday afternoon for this deeply nourishing yoga session. Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice, where we hold stretches for up to five minutes, working deeply into the soft and connective tissues of the body to release tension. We use a variety of props such as bolsters and blocks to make sure the poses are comfortable and accessible to everyone, and focus on our breathing. Yin is a wonderful compliment to any kind of exercise regime as it’s an opportunity for some really deep stretching. But it’s also a gateway into mindfulness meditation, and it should leave you feeling relaxed, beautifully stretched and peaceful. A 20-year study of 12m adults in the UK conducted by UCL showed that from 2000 – 2019 the rate of stress and anxiety severe enough to be classified as a mental disorder in creased by almost 40%.     Traditionally, the medical profession views stress and anxiety as a mental issue, but advances in understanding of how our mind and body react to external and internal stressors show that the reality is far more complex and nuanced than this.   In this 3-hour educational and experiential workshop we will explore how our system reacts to, processes and stores stress. We will explore the workings of the Vagus nerve and polyvagal theory.   We will learn simple, effective techniques to alleviate stress, become more resilient to it, and stop everyday stresses from having a lasting negative impact on our happiness and wellbeing.   Price: £35 early-bird until 15th November, £40 thereafter. Vinyasa Flow

A mixed level Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class. This will be flowing class harmonising breath and movement seamlessly moving from one posture to the next.  Using our breath in a conscious way whilst flowing and moving is amazing for your mental and physical health.  We will work on the correct alignment building strengthen, flexibility and balance.  In my classes we change our focus each month, so we learn the flow for long enough that you get to know it so you can really engage with your breath and focus on deepening and improving your postures. Crystals for Self-Care Workshop at The Amethyst Cave
